Hi, I’m Donald.
I’ve been a fan of NFL football, with a passion for the Miami Dolphins, since dropping in on my first radio broadcast on US Armed Forces Radio in the mid-seventies. I missed experiencing the perfect season live but have lived through the later years of the No-Name Defence, the high octane Marino years, Marks Brothers and more. I’ve remained a fan through good and bad and can’t see that changing, it’s in the blood!
Since 2019 I’ve had the highs and lows of live football through the Clyde Valley Blackhawks and have taken photographs from the start of the obsession.
Having been asked many times about ‘my website’, I decided to take the plunge and this work in progress is the result.
Created in early June 2024, I now intend to upload most of my image collection, working from most recent back to “was it really only 5 years ago”.
Looking back to 2019, my kit list consisted of a Canon 60D with two kit lenses and an SX50HS bridge system. Through buying new and/or trading old kit, 2024 has me making use of two Canon bodies – a 5D MkIII and 7D MkII – and a selection of Canon lenses from a nifty 50 to the 100-400mm L glass. I’m probably done with lens upgrades for the time being but can see a wee move to mirrorless sometime soon. While equipment upgrades mean increased chances of getting the shot, I also see huge improvement in my own sideline positioning, anticipation and general technique allowing for sharper images and far fewer duds. Of course, as with my web skills, my photography also shows a great deal of room for improvement.
Enjoy these albums, I’ve had a great time putting them together.
